St Nicholas, Newchurch
St Nicholas is a community activity driven project, which received funding of £38,300 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. We have been able to offer community activities on dry stone walling, woodland management, lime mortar pointing, willow weaving, research and archives, and first aid training.
Consultants have carried out work to repair damaged and at risk graves, woodland management of dead, diseased and dying trees, a survey of the graves within the churchyard, a tree survey, some repairs to the outbuilding, and a 3D laser scan of the churchyard.
Almost 500 days of time has been donated by the lovely volunteers and community participants that have joined us in the last year since the summer of 2019.
