Many of the historic buildings which blight our community were once valued assets. They were used as part of people’s daily lives and played an important role. They were lived in, worked in, played in. They were places where people talked with friends and got married. It may be difficult to imagine that now, given the condition that some of these buildings are in.
We think these buildings can become valuable again and by remembering what they were once like, perhaps a way forward can be found.
We want to hear from anyone who has a memory, a photo or anything that can help tell the story of buildings like Waterside Mill, Waterbarn Chapel, Horncliffe Mansion and the many historic places across Rossendale which are struggling for a future.
